BJP President JP Nadda to Visit Flood-Hit Himachal Pradesh Tomorrow

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president, JP Nadda, will visit Himachal Pradesh on Sunday to take stock of the heavy damage amid several landslides due to incessant rainfall in the state. 


During his visit, Nadda will be examining the level of destruction brought about by the severe rains and floods that have affected the state. 


As per, an official statement has also revealed that during his visit to the flood-affected region, Nadda will personally meet with the families of the individuals who tragically lost their lives during the floods.

Bharatiya Janata Party National President JP Nadda will visit Himachal Pradesh on August 20 to take stock of the devastation caused by heavy rains and floods in the state.

The continuous rainfall has triggered landslides, cloudbursts, and flash floods, resulting in substantial devastation throughout the state. Nadda's visit aims to assess the situation firsthand as well as provide support to those affected.


Nadda's visit on Sunday starts with his arrival in the morning at Paonta Sahib, located in the Sirmaur district. Following this, he will pay a visit to the villages of Sirmauri Tal and Kachhi Dhang, where he is set to closely assess the damages caused by the recent cloudbursts, floods, and landslides, as detailed in the official statement.


Additionally, Nadda's schedule includes a stop at the Summer Hill area in Shimla, where he will take stock of the unfortunate incident in which a temple was washed away. In Shimla and Bilaspur, he plans to hold discussions with local authorities regarding the ongoing relief, rescue, and rehabilitation efforts in the affected areas.

The ongoing rescue operations in response to the Summer Hill incident have successfully recovered sixteen bodies so far, while efforts continue to locate the four individuals who remain missing.


 The BJP leader will conduct an assessment of the damaged houses and the losses suffered in the rain-affected Krishnanagar neighbourhood in Shimla. Following this assessment, he will engage in discussions with the local administration in Shimla to know the progress of relief and rescue operations in the region.


Lastly, the BJP National President will proceed to the Circuit House in Bilaspur. During this visit, he will meet with the affected families who have endured the loss of both lives and property as a consequence of the severe rainfall, floods, and landslides in the region.
