As per, an official statement has also revealed that during his visit to the flood-affected region, Nadda will personally meet with the families of the individuals who tragically lost their lives during the floods.
The continuous rainfall has triggered landslides, cloudbursts, and flash floods, resulting in substantial devastation throughout the state. Nadda's visit aims to assess the situation firsthand as well as provide support to those affected.
Nadda's visit on Sunday starts with his arrival in the morning at Paonta Sahib, located in the Sirmaur district. Additionally, Nadda's schedule includes a stop at the Summer Hill area in Shimla, where he will take stock of the unfortunate incident in which a temple was washed away. In Shimla and Bilaspur, he plans to hold discussions with local authorities regarding the ongoing relief, rescue, and rehabilitation efforts in the affected areas.
The ongoing rescue operations in response to the Summer Hill incident have successfully recovered sixteen bodies so far, while efforts continue to locate the four individuals who remain missing.
