CBI Raids at Trinamool leader Mahua Moitra's Home in Kolkata

As part of the ongoing cash-for-query investigation, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) agents executed a search warrant at Trinamool Congress member Mahua Moitra's Kolkata home today.

. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed a First Information Report, or FIR, against Mahua Moitra the day before.

The Central Bureau ofInvestigation (CBI) was asked to look into the charges against Ms. Moitra earlier this week, and a report is expected to be filed in six months.

In addition, monthly reports detailing the investigation's progress were requested from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Post vigilant assessment and deliberation of the whole material on record, there isn’t any doubt about the element that the allegations addressed against the Respondent Public Servant (RPS), maximum of which happens to be reinforced by convincing evidence, are particularly serious naturally, particularly in view of the status held by her," as per the lokpal.

Mahua Moitra was ousted from the Lok Sabha in December of the year before

An ethics commission recommended her expulsion from office after she was alleged to have accepted bribes from businessman Darshan Hiranandani in exchange for raising important issues with the Narendra Modi government in Parliament.

Furthermore, she was charged with providing Mr. Hiranandani with direct access to the legislative website by sharing important login credentials.

Ms. Moitra admitted to disclosing the login information even though she refuted the bribery allegations. She claims that lawmakers routinely share information of this kind. She has petitioned the Supreme Court to have her expulsion overturned.
