Chargesheet Reveals Delhi Hit and Drag Victim's Tragic:-

According to the chargesheet filed by the police last month, the individuals in the Baleno car that struck and dragged a 20-year-old woman to her death on New Year's Eve allegedly had multiple opportunities to rescue her. They apparently halted the car halfway, disembarked to inspect the vehicle, and noticed the victim's body, yet opted to resume driving, leading to her demise. The police justified the murder charge levied against the suspects based on this evidence.

On Thursday, Metropolitan Magistrate Sanya Dalal at the Rohini courts examined an 800-page chargesheet and acknowledged it. The case will be reviewed and transferred to the sessions court for further action on April 18th.

According to the findings of the investigation, the offense can be divided into two parts. The first part involves the accused individuals physically assaulting the victim, while the second part involves the accused individuals repeatedly moving the car back and forth and dragging the victim for a significant distance. This information is presented in the charge sheet.

The police report suggests that the accused individuals intentionally and knowingly dragged the deceased woman with their car, resulting in her death. The accused stopped the car around 500-600 meters away from the scene of the incident, and two individuals came out of the vehicle to check if the woman was still trapped underneath it. The police have invoked the offence of murder (302 IPC) against the four accused, Amit Khanna, Krishan, Manoj Mittal, and Mithun, who were present in the car at the time of the incident.

According to the police report, the accused individuals are believed to have dragged the victim for a considerable distance, causing fatal injuries. They detached her body about 13km away from the location of the accident. The act was deemed sufficient to cause death or severe bodily harm, leading to the invocation of the murder charge against the four accused.

The charge sheet presented in court cites compelling evidence against the accused in the hit-and-run case. The DNA profiles extracted from the hair strands found in the car match those of the accused, as do the blood samples obtained from both the accused's clothing and the gauze of the victim. Six eyewitness statements, including that of the victim's friend and a milk shop owner who witnessed the accident, support the charges against the accused. Furthermore, CCTV footage from nine different locations shows the accused was present in the car at the time of the incident. The accused's normal hearing ability was also examined and documented.

The police also included the inspection reports of both the victim's scooter and the accused's car in the charge sheet. Together, this evidence makes a strong case against the accused for the hit-and-run incident.
