China Renames Places in Arunachal Pradesh:-


China has renamed 11 places in Arunachal Pradesh that claims as Zangnan, the southern part of Tibet, and is being viewed as a restatement of its territorial Claim over the region that includes the release of the news name in Chinese, Tibetan, and Pinyin, following a G20 meeting in Arunachal that China chose to boycott.

It is not the first time that China has taken such action but the Indian Government sources have pointed out that assigning new names to places will not be the reality on the ground. Also, they reiterated that Arunachal Pradesh is and will remain an integral part of India which includes precise coordinates for two land areas, two residential areas, five mountain peaks, and two rivers, as well as categories of places, names, and their administrative districts. 


The Chinese defense minister is expected to visit India for an SCO meeting and president Xi Jinping is likely to attend the SCO Summit in July. this is for the third time, China has released a list of standardized geographical names in the area following previous releases in 2017 and 2021.
