Renowned as one of Bollywood's most prominent actors, Alia Bhatt is set to grace the screens in Karan Johar's upcoming venture, "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani." In a recent interview, co-star Churni Ganguly, who portrays Alia's mother in the film, firmly stated that the label of nepotism holds no ground for Alia, as her exceptional talent speaks for itself.
Over time, Alia Bhatt has been under the spotlight of unfavorable attention concerning the topic of nepotism. Since her debut in the Hindi film industry with Karan Johar's "Student of the Year" in 2012, she has faced criticism for supposedly receiving an effortless entry into Bollywood due to her father, renowned filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt.
In a recent News18 interview, Churni Ganguly passionately defended Alia Bhatt's talent and addressed the ongoing discourse surrounding nepotism. Churni expressed, "Alia is an incredibly gifted performer. The topic of nepotism is widely discussed, but I believe it only holds significance if the actor lacks talent and fails to meet expectations. However, this is not the case with Alia. Film after film, she has proven her worth. Alia effortlessly immerses herself in her characters, breathing life into every role she plays. Even in our film, we shared improvised moments, with Alia contributing significantly to those scenes."
Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani" marks Karan Johar's directorial comeback since his 2016 film "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil," starring Anushka Sharma and Ranbir Kapoor. Alongside Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, the film boasts a stellar cast including Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi in prominent roles.
