Darshan’s Co-Star Talks After Kannada Actor’s Murder Accusations

Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa is facing serious murder allegations and his co-star Anusha Rai has opened up about his temper and their interactions on set.

Rai, who has worked with Darshan in a movie, accepted that the actor has anger issues in an interview with the Hindustan Times newspaper. “He has anger problems, but he is also very down to earth and kind,” Rai said. She said that Darshan does not get angry about everything but everyone is seen to be cautious while approaching him.

“When I speak to him, I don’t overstep my bounds,” Rai said, which also shows the restraint others use when dealing with the actor. She also pointed out that Darshan has confessed to his anger problems in the previous interviews.

These remarks are made in the backdrop of a controversy that Darshan had a hand in the murder of Renuka Swamy, a 33-year-old woman from Chitradurga, Karnataka. Swamy was reportedly kidnapped, brutalized and murdered on June 8, his lifeless body found in a drain in Bengaluru the next morning. Darshan was arrested on June 10 at his farmhouse in Mysuru in relation to the case.

However, Rai questioned Darshan’s involvement in the serious allegations leveled against him, referred to him as a ‘very humble and caring’ man.

Rai went to Instagram early this week to express concern for Darshan’s wife and a 15-year-old son, who are being trolled. She stated that Darshan is yet to be convicted and appealed to the public to allow the law to take its course.

The incident has raised a sensation in the Kannada film industry and many actors have come forward. Another colleague of Darshan, Sanjjanaa Galrani had previously referred to Darshan as a demigod of the industry and was also shocked at his arrest.
