Delhi and the surrounding NCR region witnessed heavy rainfall on Thursday morning, bringing much-needed respite from the recent heat. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted light to moderate showers across the region, along with occasional thunderstorms and lightning.

Rain affected several parts of Delhi, including Janpath, Lajpat Nagar, and the Minto Bridge area. Nearby regions like Bahadurgarh and Manesar were also expected to receive moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning. The IMD noted that very light rainfall or drizzle would continue to occur over most areas of Delhi in the coming hours.

From 8:30 AM Wednesday to 6:30 AM Thursday, several areas recorded significant rainfall. Salwan Public School in East Delhi recorded the highest at 42 mm, followed by Pusa with 40 mm and New Delhi's Sports Complex with 38 mm. Other regions like Safdarjung, Najafgarh, and Pragati Maidan received between 22 to 34 mm. Lighter showers were reported in areas such as Lodi Road, Janakpuri, and Aya Nagar.

The IMD has predicted generally cloudy skies for the day, with temperatures expected to range between 30–32°C for the maximum and 23–25°C for the minimum. These temperatures are 2 to 4 degrees below the seasonal norm, indicating a brief period of cooler, wet weather in the capital.
