In Delhi University, students recently voted for the DUSU’s central panel, marking a significant event after nearly four years. During the election, there was a noticeable presence of police officers, and various student organizations made considerable efforts to persuade students to vote for them. The chief election officer for the polls provided an update on the results late at night.
The voter turnout this time was slightly higher than in 2019 when it was 39.90%. However, it didn’t surpass the remarkable turnout of 2018, which was the highest in nearly 11 years. In 2018, a significant 44.46% of students participated in the election, while in 2017, the turnout was 42.8%. This demonstrates that students were more engaged in the election this year compared to 2019 but didn’t quite reach the levels of participation seen in previous years.
