Polling officials continue to be hopeful that the drop in turnout will improve as the day progresses across the Karnataka electoral battle grounds, which include some high-profile constituencies like Bangalore South, Bangalore North and Mysore.

The elections are the state at the time when Karnataka's issues like that of economic development, infrastructure and governance are a matter of hot debates between the two major parties the state.

Elected officials will perform the function of crucial policy makers who will be affecting everything from industrial growth to rural empowerment for the next five years. All the total 28 Lok Sabha constituencies of the state are to be contested in this election.
