Earthquake Shakes Ukhrul, Manipur: Earthquake Reported in Many Part of the Region

A 3.3 magnitude earthquake struck Ukhrul, Manipur on July 19, 2024, at 9:28 AM IST. The National Centre for Seismology reported the epicenter at 25.19°N, 94.31°E, with a depth of 30 km. No casualties have been reported.
The earthquake happened on Friday, July 19, 2024, at 9:28 AM India Standard Time in the Ukhrul district of Manipur and caused a mild shaking in the area. The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) noted that the seismic activity registered as 3. was an earthquake measuring 3 on the Richter scale.
The geographical coordinates of the earthquake were determined to be 25. 19°N latitude and 94. It is situated at 31°E longitude with the focus depth of 30km below the earth’s surface. This location pins the source of the tremors to the Ukhrul district, characterized by high altitudes and an ethnologically diverse demography.
