A compliance report about the matter has also been requested from the Ministry of Information Technology. The polling board reports that despite the announcement that the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and general elections will be implemented, there have been multiple complaints regarding government initiatives being delivered to residents' cell phones.

MeitY had notified the commission that though the letters used to be sent out before MCC approached into force, it was probable that a few of them could have been sent to recipients with a delay because of systemic and network limitations, the polling firm said.
