Jhanjra area, an unexpected event unfolded as chlorine gas leaked, causing
distress among residents. Prompt action followed when reports of breathing
difficulties surfaced. Local authorities swiftly sprang into action,
prioritizing the safety of the affected residents.
Residents
were promptly evacuated to secure locations as a precautionary measure. Swift
action by the authorities helped avert any potential casualties. The incident
stemmed from a leaked chlorine cylinder within an empty plot, causing
respiratory distress among the locals.
The
gravity of the situation prompted a rapid response from multiple emergency units.
Police, alongside the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the Fire
team, were dispatched promptly. Their collective goal: is to ensure the safe
disposal of the leaked chlorine gas.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dehradun, Ajay Singh, confirmed the evacuation and the ongoing efforts for safe disposal. Singh emphasized the coordinated response of various teams to tackle the emergency effectively.

to the situation report, Dehradun's ADM, Ramji Sharan, acknowledged the eye

Sahaspur MLA Sahdev Singh Pundir highlighted the potential disaster averted due to the coordinated efforts of the authorities. He emphasized the criticality of the situation owing to the presence of multiple chlorine cylinders and praised the collective action that prevented a catastrophe.
