In North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, a tragic incident unfolded as a brick kiln's chimney collapsed, claiming three lives and injuring over 30 individuals. This devastating mishap occurred during operational hours in Dhaltitah village, Basirhat, on a sorrowful Wednesday evening.

The victims, primarily workers at the kiln, faced severe consequences. Sadly, one individual succumbed to injuries during hospital treatment, while two were found lifeless under the debris, confirmed by local authorities. Among them were Jethuram and Rakesh Kumar from Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh, and a local resident named Hafizul Mondal.

Reports indicate that all injured persons were employees of the brick kiln, with approximately 20 currently receiving treatment at Basirhat Hospital. Two critically wounded individuals were transferred to RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata. To aid the ongoing rescue operation, a substantial police force has been deployed by the authorities.

Despite the tragic outcome, the precise cause behind the chimney collapse remains elusive. Authorities have pledged a comprehensive investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to this sorrowful incident. Meanwhile, the community mourns the lives lost and fervently hopes for the swift recovery of the injured.
