Ferrari's Charles Leclerc secures pole at the highly anticipated Las Vegas Grand Prix 2023, beating teammate Carlos Sainz and rival Max Verstappen. The return of Formula 1 to Vegas faced controversy but culminated in a stellar qualifying session, highlighting Leclerc's dominance and surprising placements by other drivers.

In
a thrilling qualifying session at the Las Vegas Grand Prix 2023, Ferrari's Charles
Leclerc emerged victorious, claiming pole position after a phenomenal display
during the qualifying rounds at the newly introduced Strip Circuit. His
remarkable performance surpassed teammate Carlos Sainz and rival Max
Verstappen, setting the stage for an intense race.
The
return of Formula 1 to Las Vegas after a hiatus since 1982 sparked significant
attention, initially marred by controversy during FP1 when Sainz's car collided
with a water valve cover, leading to the cancellation of the practice session.
Subsequently, disruptions continued as fans were abruptly evacuated from the
grandstand before FP2, sparking global reactions within the racing community.
However, amidst these disruptions, Leclerc maintained his momentum, dominating FP2 and continuing his impressive form into the qualifying session. Clocking a remarkable 1:32.726, Leclerc clinched the pole position, followed closely by Sainz and Verstappen, who showcased a strong comeback after a moderate performance in practice sessions.

The
qualifying rounds also witnessed unexpected successes, with Williams' drivers
Alexander Albon and Logan Sargeant securing P6 and P7 on the starting grid,
while Alpine's Pierre Gasly claimed a commendable fourth place.
Nevertheless,
seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton faced a setback, securing the 11th
spot, while McLaren's Lando Norris missed Q2, placing 16th, and teammate Oscar
Piastri started from the 19th position.
The
Las Vegas Grand Prix 2023 qualifying results highlighted Ferrari's dominance,
setting the stage for an electrifying race.
