Hardik Pandya, the new captain of the Mumbai Indians (MI), is coming under more and more criticism after his team lost another game in the 2024 Indian Premier League. 

There is now a great deal of strain on him. Management is clearly upset over the team's two losses thus far, and he has been the target of taunts both on and off the field as well as online jokes and jeers. Even though Hardik seemed calm and composed at the presenting ceremony, he probably feels anxious about the outcome.

On a pitch that favors batting, MI chose to bowl first because they are sure they can chase a target, even if it is higher than 200. They are able to execute these kinds of chases because of their hitting lineup. On the other hand, MI could not have expected the results that SRH's bowling produced. Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Heinrich Klaasnd, and Aiden Markram all made contributions to SRH's 277 after 20 overs, which was the highest score in any Twenty20 league (not just the Indian Premier League). This demonstrates that SRH's explosive batting lineup has been their greatest strength the entire season, at least in part.

It appears that Hardik ran out of ideas while in charge of the middle unit. Many cricket commentators took issue with the decision to postpone JaspritBumrah's prompt entrance to the attack. Bumrah is an excellent pacer. Among them were former SRH coach Tom Moody and Indian hitter Irfan Pathan. Bumrah was MI's best bowler on Wednesday night. Unlike other bowlers, he contained the runs to 36 in four overs. Among the Michigan bowlers on display this evening, he stood alone with an economy in the single digits.

Social media outlets were inundated with memes after Michigan's second-half loss by 31 runs. The attention returned to Hardik, who had already lost the confidence of a large number of his supporters upon his return to Mumbai from the Gujarat Titans. GT fans are not satisfied with him because he hasn't demonstrated any commitment to the team or the fan base. The majority of MI supporters, however, are not delighted with him since he assumed Rohit Sharma's captaincy. Moreover, the season's miserable beginning hasn't helped his cause.
