In yet another violent incident across Israeli borders, two women were shot dead on Friday (April 7, 2023) in Israel's West Bank.

The incident was termed to be a cross-frontier violence reinforced Israeli troops on borders and police raids were conducted at the Al-Aqsa Mosque of Jerusalem.

Amid fear of an enlarging conflict there were no serious injuries despite mutual attacks from Israel and Lebanon,Gaza. Though neither side aimed at intensifying the fight.

"Nobody wants an escalation right now," an Israeli army spokesman said. "Quiet will be answered with quiet, at this stage I think, at least in the coming hours."

One official with a Palestinian militant group told Reuters they were ready to keep calm should Israel do the same, with the group having "made its point".

During the Holy month of Ramadan, the Friday prayers attracting a large crowd went peacefully at the Al-Aqsa-Mosque without any major violence except for some stone pelting. The Israeli police forces were deployed at the place without them entering the compound as the Palestinians and Jordans revere holy sites as Temple Mount, a vestige of two biblical temples.

The Al-Aqsa Mosque was raided by Israeli Police this week in an attempt to remove agitators residing in the mosque which drew a lot of condemnation from Arabs as it is the duty of Muslims stay at the mosques and pray at night.

Currently, the Israeli government is aiming at expanding Jewish presence in the West Bank with new settlements including anti Palestinian State supporters as members.
