In a chilling case from Hyderabad, retired Army jawan Gurumurthy confessed to killing his wife, Madhavi, dismembering her body, and disposing of the parts after boiling them. However, the police have yet to recover any evidence, including body parts, despite extensive investigations.

The incident reportedly began with a heated argument on January 16, during which Gurumurthy allegedly hit his wife against a wall, causing her death. He then dismembered her body, boiled the parts, and disposed of them in various locations, including Jillelaguda Lake. Investigators have seized items such as a pressure cooker, water heater, and knives believed to be used in the crime.

Madhavi, aged 35, was reported missing by her mother on January 18. Gurumurthy, currently employed as a security guard, admitted to the crime during police interrogation. The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ch Praveen Kumar, stated that the murder appeared to be unplanned, resulting from a domestic quarrel.

Despite the suspect’s detailed confession, police remain cautious, citing the absence of corroborative forensic evidence. Commissioner of Police G Sudheer Babu emphasised the importance of technical and scientific validation to substantiate the claims.
