PM Modi Accepts Invitation to Attend G7 Hiroshima Summit:-

The "friendship" between India and Japan isn't a product of globalization in the last century or so but runs down to the era of post-Vedic civilization or the Buddhist period. India always maintained a healthy bond with its East Asian allies, be it through the exchange of culture and ideas or trade.

The bond is only getting better, with the Japan PM Fumio Kishida inviting his counterpart from India to attend the G7 Hiroshima Summit. PM Kishida was in New Delhi attending a meeting with PM Modi while inviting the latter to the event.

In response to the invite to G7 Hiroshiman Summit, PM Modi said, “Today, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida invited me to the G7 Leaders' Summit, which will be held in Hiroshima in May. I thank him for this.”

Modi also expressed his delight at the fact that PM Kishida will sojourn India again in September owing to the G20 meetings.

The recently concluded talks between the leaders from both countries oversaw pledges to "expand the India-Japan global strategic partnership" and establish a stable and peaceful Indo-Pacific region.

Right from defense to the healthcare sector, India and Japan enjoy a fruitful and yielding relationship. Japan is one of the primary investors in the development of India and has vowed to continue its investments.

In 2022, PM Kishida announced a whopping figure of 5 trillion Yen (Rs 3,20,000 crore) worth of investments in India for the next five years.

The "Japan and India Vision 2025 Special Strategic and Global Partnership" and "India-Japan Nuclear Deal" are a few examples of the healthy ties the two countries share. Apart from the agreements, one can't possibly forget the contribution of Japan to the successful completion of the Delhi metros.

One of the major concerns for both countries is the rising power of China and the disputes it brings to the table. Nevertheless, with fresh talks to hold over the G7 Hiroshima Summit, the ties are expected to be renewed and sealed for the future!
