Rohit and the bowlers propel India to a record 8th win against Pakistan in ODI World Cup play.

India kept their perfect record in the 50-overs World Cup against their most bitter rivals by dominating Pakistan with a seven-wicket victory in a one-sided blockbuster encounter at a packed Narendra Modi Stadium on Saturday. India won the match by a margin of seven wickets.

The western Indian city had been gripped by cricket fever in the days leading up to the most anticipated match of the tournament, and India took an early lead by bowling out their opponents for 191 runs inside of 43 overs.

Pakistan's chances of reaching their target of about 300 looked promising while Babar Azam (50) and Mohammad Rizwan (49) were batting in the middle of the order. However, Pakistan's innings came to an abrupt end before it reached its full allotment of 50 overs.

India's skipper Rohit Sharma led the chase with a scorching 86, and the two-time defending champions finally cruised to victory in just 30.3 overs to keep their record against Pakistan in the tournament's history unblemished.

They are also one of just two teams in the competition thus far to have won their opening three matches, including New Zealand, who finished as the runner-up in 2019.
