The second T20 World Cup 2024 semi-final match took place at Guyana and the match was quite one sided where India outplayed the defending champion England by 68 runs. This resounding win has placed India in a first T20 World Cup final in 10 years against South Africa in Barbados on Saturday.

Rahul Dravid came good with an excellent score of 57 off 39 balls and Suryakumar Yadav supported him well by scoring 47 off 28 balls only. These two 72 paved way to this gigantic total of 171/7 which India mustered on the board.

England never really got off to a good start with the bat and India’s spinners relished the slow, turning wicket in Guyana. Kuldeep Yadav again proved to be a splendid bowler by taking 3 wickets in 19 and Axar Patel also took 3 wickets in 23 and as was seen earlier, the English batsmen once again looked clueless against the spin. Jasprit Bumrah was the standout bowler here as he sent two Englishmen back to the pavilion and bowled them out for a mere 103/10 in 16 overs.

The Indians avenged the 10 wicket thrashing by England that was meted out in the previous T20 World Cup semi final match. It also makes India to finish all the three major ICC events on a trot for the final of the World Test Championship, the One Day International World Cup and now the T20 World Cup.

India who is placed to play South Africa in the final will go into the match fired up with this nearly perfect demonstration against the defending champion. Cricket enthusiasts now look forward to the Saturday’s finals in Barbados to determine whether India would come out victorious and lift the T20 World Cup for an encore.
