India issues a cautionary advisory for its citizens in Canada due to rising anti-India activities amidst diplomatic tensions. Stay informed and stay safe.

In response to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's recent allegations regarding Indian involvement in the murder of Khalistani leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar, India has issued a precautionary advisory to its citizens residing in or planning to travel to Canada.

The advisory comes in light of growing anti-India activities and hate crimes in Canada.

Trudeau's claim of a "potential link" between Indian government agents and Nijjar's murder in June was strongly refuted by India as "absurd and motivated."

The advisory, directed at Indian nationals, students in Canada, and those intending to visit the country, highlights the threats faced by members of the Indian community who oppose the anti-India agenda.

It is worth mentioning that the deteriorating relationship has been exacerbated by Canada's perceived reluctance to take action against pro-Khalistan elements operating within its borders.

The advisory urges all Indian nationals in Canada to exercise "utmost caution" due to the increasing prevalence of anti-India activities, politically-condoned hate crimes, and criminal violence. It specifically advises avoiding travel to regions and venues where such incidents have occurred.

Canada is home to approximately 230,000 Indian students and 700,000 non-resident Indians, making their safety a priority for the Indian government. The advisory reassures that the Indian high commission and consulates in Canada will maintain communication with Canadian authorities to ensure the well-being of the Indian community.

Indian students, in particular, are cautioned to remain vigilant in the deteriorating security environment in Canada. The advisory also emphasizes the importance of registration with the Indian missions in Ottawa, Toronto, and Vancouver through their respective websites or the MADAD portal (madad.gov.in). This registration will facilitate better communication and assistance in the event of emergencies or untoward incidents.
