A 22-year-old guard stationed at the Happy Valley outpost of Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie was found dead in his campus residence on Thursday. The man was discovered by Mussoorie police, who had to break down the locked door of his apartment. He was reportedly found hanging and dressed in women's attire, leading authorities to initially suspect suicide.
Mussoorie police station in charge, Arvind Chaudhary, stated that the body was found after a carpenter assisted in gaining entry to the residence. The police promptly started an investigation, and videographic evidence was collected at the scene. The young guard had been living alone, and his family has since been informed.
Chaudhary added that while preliminary evidence suggests suicide, the exact cause of death will be determined after a thorough investigation and a post-mortem examination. The reasons behind the incident remain unclear, and authorities are continuing their probe to uncover more details surrounding the guard’s death.
