India has
unveiled its very first post office built using cutting-edge 3D printing
technology. The inauguration ceremony for the 1100 square feet post office took
place in Bengaluru's Cambridge Layout, near Ulsoor Bazaar. The occasion was
graced by Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, who hailed the advent of
this revolutionary construction approach.
Expressing his
astonishment at India's stride in technology, Minister Vaishnaw remarked,
"This unveiling showcases a fresh facet of India's technological prowess.
From pioneering our own 4G and 5G capabilities to becoming a hub for telecom
technology, and manufacturing world-class trains, India's progress is
awe-inspiring."
He credited the
nation's achievement to its resolute leadership and the unwavering belief in
the capabilities of the country's citizens.
3D printing
technology, a rapidly emerging construction method, employs computer-aided
design to fabricate intricate three-dimensional structures through layer-by-layer
deposition. The post office stands as a testament to India's ability to harness
technology to build the future.
IIT Guwahati's
successfully constructed a 3D-printed sentry post for the Indian Army. The
initiative was part of an indigenous research and development program,
exemplifying India's growing penchant for innovation.
The inauguration
ceremony witnessed a gathering of dignitaries and technology enthusiasts who
lauded the nation's strides in technology and innovation. The 3D-printed post office
is more than just a structure; it symbolizes India's aspiration to be at the
forefront of modern technology and innovation.
