In the final T20I against Australia, Ruturaj Gaikwad is poised to break Virat Kohli's Indian T20I record. Needing 19 runs to surpass Kohli's milestone, Gaikwad has scored 213 runs in four matches. India, leading the series 3-1, aims for a victory in Bengaluru to conclude the series triumphantly.

India's young batting sensation, Ruturaj Gaikwad, stands at the threshold of rewriting history by eclipsing Virat Kohli's iconic T20I record. Gaikwad's exceptional form in the ongoing series against Australia positions him just shy of Kohli's record. The grand finale at Bengaluru's M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday beckons the potential momentous feat.

Virat Kohli currently holds the Indian T20I record for the most runs scored in a bilateral series, having amassed 231 runs in a five-match T20I series versus England in 2021. Gaikwad, having already aggregated an impressive 213 runs across four matches in the Australia series, needs a mere 19 runs to surpass Kohli and etch his name in the annals of Indian cricket.

In the realm of T20I bilateral contests, Kohli's record remains peerless in Indian cricket, with KL Rahul trailing behind at the second spot. Rahul's 224 runs in five T20Is against New Zealand in 2020 place him as the nearest contender to Kohli's milestone.

India, having already clinched the series 3-1, aims to conclude on a high note in Bengaluru. The recent victory in Raipur showcased Suryakumar Yadav's team's dominance, as Rinku Singh's explosive batting propelled them to a 20-run win. Axar Patel's stellar performance with figures of 3/16 tightened India's grip, ensuring victory and earning him the Player of the Match award.
