India-US relationship is "stronger than ever", I2U2 strong future: Whitehouse

On 19th July, 2023, the White House reiterated that the India-US relationship remains "stronger than ever," underscoring the enduring prospects of the I2U2 framework and the group's commitment to fostering stronger partnerships among member nations.
The I2U2 is a strategic grouping that consists of four prominent nations: India, Israel, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and the United States. The primary objective of this alliance is to enhance connectivity and foster cooperation within the Middle East region.
The grouping was conceptualized in October, 2021.The group's first joint statement, released on July 14, 2022, states that the countries aim to cooperate on "joint investments and new initiatives in water, energy, transportation, space, health, and food security."
On Wednesday, White House press secretary Karine Jean Pierre during the briefing, stated that the visit (PM Modi's visit to the US), the previous month had been highly successful and significant. She stated that the relationship with India was stronger than ever, and they had announced several essential deliverables, some of which were currently being put into action. She expressed a sense of optimism regarding their long-term future and relationship with India, believing that it would persist.
The White House press secretary mentioned that the I2U2 initiative had been initiated a year ago, based on a shared vision of fostering security and prosperity in the Middle East region and ensuring connectivity. She stated that the I2U2 framework was already making significant progress in strengthening partnerships among the four member countries and beyond, which was evident from the ongoing projects and initiatives.
Furthermore, she emphasized that the I2U2 alliance had a promising future ahead, and they were genuinely enthusiastic about the potential it held for further advancements and achievements in the region.
From June 21-24, Prime Minister Modi undertook a state visit to the US, during which he conducted a special yoga event at the UN Headquarters, engaged in bilateral discussions with US President Joe Biden at the White House, and delivered a speech at the UN Congress.
The visit has resulted in strengthening the bilateral relationship between US and India very successfully.
