In a recent interview, Indian Film Director SS Rajamouli discussed his inspirations, his choices about his faith, his opinions on movies and other things. The director of blockbuster movies like Bahubali and RRR was questioned about how the Ramayana and Mahabharata had affected his work. SS Rajamouli replied- “I have read these books since I was a kid, and at first, they were just nice and interesting. However, as I started to grow old, I read many translations of the book. I could visualize the characters, their personal conflicts, and the emotions that drove them. These texts have some sort of influence on everything I produce”. Film Director SS Rajamouli
Although coming from a very religious family and claiming to be an atheist, SS Rajamouli remarked that he believes that religion essentially is exploitation. Rajamouli further added- “The films I have produced and directed have no hidden agenda. I produce movies for those who are willing to pay their hard-earned money for a movie ticket. I like to amuse them, give them reasons to feel dramatic about the characters and events and let them have fun”.Rajamouli respects how people feel about God. “I respect people's feelings and do not say bad things about God. My family is sad for me since I'm leaving the religious path. But today they respect my way of life and have made peace with it”, SS Rajamouli continued. Film Director SS Rajamouli
