IndiGo was ranked among the "world’s worst airlines" in a recent survey, prompting the airline to question the report’s methodology. IndiGo defended its performance, citing strong punctuality and low complaints, while reaffirming its commitment to providing a hassle-free travel experience.

India’s largest airline, IndiGo, has been ranked 103rd out of 109 airlines in the 2024 AirHelp Score report, sparking controversy. The EU-based survey, which evaluates airlines on punctuality, service quality, and compensation claims, scored IndiGo 4.80, placing it among the "world’s worst airlines."

Responding sharply, IndiGo refuted the findings, questioning the survey’s methodology and transparency. The airline highlighted its consistent performance in punctuality and low customer complaint ratio, arguing that the report fails to account for the operational scale and compensation frameworks of different regions. “The survey lacks credibility as it does not disclose the sample size from India,” IndiGo said in a statement.

AirHelp’s report aims to encourage airlines to improve customer satisfaction by publishing rankings based on global passenger feedback. While Brussels Airlines topped the list with a score of 8.12, other notable performers included Qatar Airways and United Airlines. Air India, the only other Indian carrier on the list, ranked 61st with a score of 6.15. Tunisair was ranked last.

IndiGo emphasized its commitment to delivering a seamless travel experience, describing itself as “India’s most preferred airline” and reaffirming its focus on affordability, punctuality, and customer service. Despite the low ranking, IndiGo remains a dominant player in the Indian aviation market, operating over 1,800 daily flights.
