Is American Leadership At Risk:-

India's non-aligned stance influences Saudi Arabia's foreign policy

Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, made an interesting statement at the World PolicyConference in December last year. He declared that Saudi Arabia's foreign policy is to bring prosperity to its citizens. India's Foreign Minister, S. Jaishankar, also made a noteworthy statement regarding the objections of Western countries regarding buying oil from Russia. He explained that India needs energy, and they are not in a position to buy oil at a high price like Europe. These statements reveal a shift in the foreign policy of Saudi Arabia towards India's non-aligned stance.

Minister, S. Jaishankar,

Saudi Arabia moves away from US-led security network in the Persian Gulf

Historically, Saudi Arabia was part of the regional security network led by the United States in the Persian Gulf, including Iran. However, the country now believes that staying with the US is not in its interest and is moving towards India's non-aligned stance. Saudi Arabia and the US had a security-for-oil policy, but this seems to be a thing of past Saudi Arabia has also established a partnership with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), an organization headed by China and Russia. In the future, Saudi Arabia may also join BRICS, of which India is already a full-time member. This inclusion in the SCO is also seen as a way for Saudi Arabia to distance itself from the US, particularly after the Cold War.

India's multi-alignment approach serves as a model for navigating international crises

India's foreign policy, which was established by Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, has been consistent since independence. Nehru's non-alignment policy means that India will not be included in any group. India's Foreign Minister now calls this policy multi-alignment. After Russia's attack on Ukraine, it was a testing time for India's foreign policy. However, India found a solution in Nehru's non-alignment policy during challenging times.

Saudi Arabia's 'Saudi First' Policy Puts American Leadership in Jeopardy

Saudi Arabia's Energy Minister, Abdul Aziz bin Salman, is working on a "Saudi First" policy, and it is also being stated that Russia is directly benefiting from India and Saudi. In the case of India, this is related to buying oil, while in the case of deals, Russia is benefiting from the decision to cut oil production in Saudi Arabia. Questions about American leadership are not only being raised in West Asia but also in Europe. French President Emmanuel Macron saw a fresh glimpse of this during his visit to China. He said that Europe should stop itself from becoming America's lackey before becoming one.

Saudi Arabia and India shift towards non-alignment: What it means for American leadership?

In conclusion, the foreign policies of Saudi Arabia and India are shifting towards non-alignment, with Saudi Arabia now moving away from the US towards India's stance. The inclusion of Saudi Arabia in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the possible inclusion in BRICS reflects this shift. India's consistent non-alignment policy, established by Prime Minister Nehru, has been successful in challenging times, such as the Russia-Ukraine crisis. Additionally, Russia is directly benefiting from India and Saudi Arabia. These changes raise questions about American leadership not only in West Asia but also in Europe.
