Israel Launches Air Strikes on Gaza Strip, Killing Three Islamic Jihad Commanders: Gaza Militants Vow Revenge

Israeli air strikes in the Gaza Strip have resulted in the
deaths of at least 12 Palestinians, which include three leaders of the Islamic
Jihad militant group According to Palestinian health officials, six individuals
lost their lives, comprising three women and three children.
Furthermore, an additional 20 individuals were wounded.
Israel asserted that the operation was initiated to target aggressors who were
an imminent danger to their population.
It Is anticipated that the militants residing in Gaza will
retaliate against Israel with rockets, and the degree of involvement from
Hamas, the governing body of the area, is considered to be an important
element. Reports suggest that Israeli authorities are gearing up for an
extended period of combat.
Early in the morning, multiple rounds of airstrikes were
carried out in Gaza, involving 40 Israeli warplanes and helicopters. The
attacks targeted residential houses, inducing fear and anxiety among the
locals.
The photos revealed that a minimum of two flats experienced
severe frontage damage while others were also affected. The Israeli armed
forces claimed that, alongside attacking the trio of militants, their aircraft
hit ten locations utilized for crafting arms and six military installations owned
by the Islamic Jihad group.
The Islamic Jihad’s military branch, the al-Quds Brigades,
verified the demise of three commanders. The three people identified were Jihad
Shaker al-Ghannam, who holds the position of Secretary for the Military Council
of al-Quds Brigades; Khalil Salah al-Bahtini, who is the Commander for the
Northern Region of the organization; and Tariq Muhammad Ezzedine, who holds a
prominent leadership role in overseeing military operations in the occupied
West Bank.
The al-Quds Brigades have declared their determination to
seek retribution. The statement issued by the group expressed their unwavering
commitment in the face of the loss of their comrades and emphasized that their
resolve would only be strengthened by this tragic event.
They affirmed their steadfastness and their refusal to back
down from their objectives.
The Defence Minister of Israel, Yoav Gallant, gave a stern
warning that any terrorists who cause harm to Israeli citizens will face
regrettable consequences. The Islamic Jihad has been held accountable for the
recent spates of rocket attacks towards Israel, triggered by the demise of a
Palestinian activist on a hunger strike in Israeli custody.
