The Israeli military killed senior Hezbollah commander Suhail Husseini in a Beirut strike. Husseini managed logistics and weapons transfers for Hezbollah. The strike is part of Israel's broader campaign against Hezbollah, amid ongoing tensions with Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah's rocket attacks into Israel since October 2023.
The Israeli military reported on Tuesday that it had killed a senior Hezbollah commander, Suhail Husseini, in a strike on Beirut. Husseini was responsible for logistics, budget management, and overseeing operations within the militant group. His involvement extended to the transfer of advanced weaponry from Iran to Hezbollah units, making him a key figure in the organization.
This attack comes in the context of the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, with tensions further escalating since October 2023. Hezbollah began launching rockets into Israel after the anniversary of the Hamas-led incursion a year ago, which had resulted in the deaths of 1,200 Israelis and the abduction of 250 others.

The situation in Gaza remains dire, with Palestinian militants continuing to fire rockets into Israel, despite a heavy Israeli offensive that has caused the death of around 42,000 Palestinians and displaced 90% of the population, according to local medical sources. In addition to the Beirut strike, Israeli forces have been targeting Hezbollah leaders, with their overall commander, Hassan Nasrallah, also reportedly killed in recent weeks.
Hezbollah, despite these losses, has vowed to continue its rocket and missile strikes into Israel, tying its actions to the ongoing conflict in Gaza, where its ally Hamas has been engaged in warfare for over a year.
