Raids at BBC's Indian:-

The big breaking news of the afternoon came from the capital city of India. According to sources, the Income Tax (IT) department has started its raids on the BBC's Delhi office.

Located in the Kasturba Gandhi Marg, the raid saw people in the office leaving early for home while others were instructed to work from home during the "survey" hours by the IT department.  The IT authorities are also monitoring BBC's office in Mumbai, located near the Bandra-Kurla Complex area. Raids at BBC's Indian Raids at BBC's Indian According to the IT officials, the raids, or more precisely, the "surveys," were undertaken under suspicions of tax evasion by the BBC. The "survey," however, didn't go well with leaders in the opposition, specifically the INC. Prominent leaders like Jairam Ramesh, Mahua Moitra, and Mehbooba Mufti called out the surveys as pointless and wool-gathering, while real issues are left craving attention. According to them, the government should focus on the burning issue of Adani and his controversies rather than on BBC and the alleged offenses. The surveys sure came on a backdrop of a documentary released by the BBC earlier in the year targeting PM Narendra Modi. Until any concrete pieces of evidence are found by the IT department, it would be thoughtless to jump to a conclusion.
