Omar Abdullah expressed his sorrow in an emotional message, saying, “The terrible news from late last night isn’t really sinking in. I know the last few years have been marked by our differences, Devender, but I prefer to focus on the fun times we shared together, the excellent work we did together & the memories. You have been taken from us all too soon & will be missed.” He extended his deepest condolences to Rana’s family.
Rana, known as a prominent voice in the Jammu region, had a long political history with the National Conference (NC) before joining the BJP in 2021. Known for his significant influence, he had recently retained his Nagrota constituency, underscoring his enduring popularity across party lines.
