As Lok Sabha elections approach, RLD explores alliances, with BJP offering 4 seats in UP. RLD prepares for a broader presence, aiming at 12 seats. Criteria for alliances focus on shared goals, especially regarding farmers' welfare. Speculations swirl around RLD's NDA alliance while seat-sharing discussions intensify with BJP and Samajwadi Party.
In
the run-up to the Lok
Sabha Election 2024, the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) under the leadership of
Jayant Chaudhary has embarked on a strategic path, contemplating alliances to
bolster its electoral prospects. Pawan Agri, the national spokesperson for RLD,
disclosed that the party is open to forming alliances with like-minded parties
that prioritize the interests of farmers and public welfare. Multiple parties
have expressed interest in collaborating with RLD, signalling the party's
growing influence in the political landscape.
Amidst
this political manoeuvring, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has offered four
parliamentary seats in Uttar Pradesh to RLD, indicating a potential alliance.
However, RLD has geared up to contest 12 Lok Sabha seats in the state,
underlining its determination to expand its electoral footprint. Pawan Agri
reiterated RLD's preparedness, affirming their readiness to contest a broader
spectrum of seats.
RLD
has outlined specific criteria for forging alliances, emphasizing alignment
with their core values and a commitment to the welfare of farmers and the
general public. The decision regarding alliance partners will hinge upon their
adherence to RLD's objectives and a shared vision for governance.
Speculations have been rife about RLD's potential alliance with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). However, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav expressed confidence in Jayant Chaudhary's dedication to the farmers' cause, dispelling doubts about RLD's allegiance. Yadav lauded Chaudhary's political astuteness and his unwavering commitment to safeguarding farmers' interests.

Party, primarily focusing on Western UP. Meanwhile, the Congress is expected to
contest 11 seats in collaboration with the Samajwadi Party.
Leaders
within the Samajwadi Party have expressed confidence in RLD's allegiance to the
'I.N.D.I.A bloc,' emphasizing continuity in their collaborative efforts. Both
Akhilesh Yadav and Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav reiterated their belief in
Chaudhary's commitment to the alliance, underscoring the strength of their
partnership in the upcoming elections.
