Jharkhand Tragic Incident: Bus



On Saturday night, a bus accident in Jharkhand's Giridih resulted in the unfortunate loss of three passengers' lives and left more than 15 individuals injured, as the vehicle fell into Barkar River in Giridih, Jharkhand.

 

Around 8.40 pm, the incident occurred on Giridih Dumri Road, where the bus, traveling from Ranchi to Giridih, veered into the Barakar river, as shared by Anil Kumar, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Giridih.

 

The casualties were verified by Giridih's Deputy Commissioner, Naman Priyesh. According to Naman Priyesh, the Deputy Commissioner of Giridih, the mishap resulted in the unfortunate demise of three individuals, with more than 15 others sustaining injuries.

In a video snippet capturing the event, the overturned bus was seen submerged in the river, while nearby residents illuminated the scene using their mobile phone torches to aid the ongoing rescue mission.

 

Expressing his grief over the tragedy, Chief Minister Hemant Soren shared on a social media platform that the bus was en route from Ranchi to Giridih when the accident occurred. He mentioned that the district administration was actively involved in rescue operations and that JMM leaders and workers were also contributing to the relief efforts.

The local authorities have initiated rescue efforts, directing the Giridih Deputy Commissioner to hasten the operation. Essential medical assistance will be furnished. Banna Gupta, Jharkhand's Health and Disaster Management Minister, emphasized that the government is actively addressing the situation.
