Months after her June 24 disappearance, a Kanpur woman’s body was found near a government bungalow. Her gym trainer, Vimal Soni, confessed to killing her following an argument over his marriage plans. The case is under investigation, with police probing motives and verifying potential theft of her jewelry.
In a chilling development from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, a woman, who had been missing since June 24, was found dead near the Kanpur District Magistrate’s bungalow four months after her disappearance. The woman, the wife of a prominent businessman, was allegedly murdered by her gym trainer, Vimal Soni, who operates in the city’s Green Park area. Soni was recently arrested and confessed to burying her body in a government officials’ bungalow zone.
Reports indicate that the woman was distressed about Soni’s impending marriage. According to Kanpur's DCP North Shravan Kumar Singh, the two had met at the gym, leading to a heated argument inside a car. During the altercation, Soni reportedly struck her neck, causing her to faint, after which he allegedly killed her and buried her body. The investigation faced challenges as Soni had ceased using his phone post-crime, prompting the police to deploy teams across multiple cities, including Pune, Agra, and Punjab, in search efforts.
