Karnataka's Chief Minister Siddaramaiah vows legal action against BJP's Eshwarappa for his divisive remarks, demanding a law to "shoot traitors". Eshwarappa called for action against DK Suresh and Vinay Kulkarni, inciting political tension. Siddaramaiah criticizes the language, promising consequences for such rhetoric.
In
Karnataka, Chief
Minister Siddaramaiah has declared intentions to pursue legal measures
against senior BJP figure Eshwarappa for his controversial comments, advocating
for legislation permitting the shooting of alleged "traitors" DK
Suresh and Vinay Kulkarni. These remarks, made during an event in Davangere,
prompted Siddaramaiah's strong reaction, expressing astonishment at such
language coming from a leader of a national party.
During
the said event, Eshwarappa directly appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to
enact a law allowing the shooting of the aforementioned individuals, whom he
labeled as "traitors" for their purported advocacy for the secession
of South India. Additionally, Eshwarappa challenged the Congress party to expel
these individuals to maintain unity within the party ranks.
DK Suresh, a member of the Lok Sabha representing Bengaluru Rural constituency, and Vinay Kulkarni, an MLA from Dharwad, found themselves at the center of this controversy. Siddaramaiah's response was scathing, condemning Eshwarappa's language as indicative of a limited vocabulary dominated by violence.

Siddaramaiah
further questioned the credentials of Eshwarappa, citing his affiliation with
the RSS and the incongruity of such rhetoric with the values of a national
party. He reiterated his commitment to pursuing legal action against Eshwarappa
for his inflammatory remarks.
This
incident stems from Suresh's recent statement regarding the distribution of
funds, wherein he suggested that if the perceived injustices were not addressed
by the Centre, it could potentially lead to demands for separatism in the
southern states. This statement had already incited controversy prior to
Eshwarappa's inflammatory remarks.
The
situation underscores the heightened political tensions in Karnataka, with the
exchange highlighting the deep-rooted divisions and ideological clashes within
the state's political landscape.
