A Lawrence Bishnoi gang shooter, Yogesh alias Raju, alleged that former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique had links with Dawood Ibrahim. His claims have sparked political outrage, with opposition leaders criticizing UP Police's handling of the case. Siddique was murdered on October 12, and police have made nine arrests in the case.
Yogesh alias Raju, a shooter associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed that Baba Siddique, a former Maharashtra minister, had ties with notorious criminal Dawood Ibrahim. Raju made these allegations after being arrested by the UP Police following an encounter in Mathura. He described Siddique as "not a good man" and linked him to Dawood, infamous for the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts.
Raju’s comments came in the wake of Siddique’s murder on October 12, outside his son Zeeshan Siddique's office in Bandra, Mumbai. Although Raju is not directly connected to Siddique’s murder, he is implicated in the killing of a gym owner in Delhi.
His remarks triggered sharp reactions from opposition leaders. Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi criticized the police for allowing Raju to speak to the media “like an action hero” despite being a criminal. Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate also slammed the police, questioning their handling of the situation and accusing the BJP of turning the country into a "circus."
