Lightning Strike in Chhatarpur: Two Died, Four Injured

On Saturday, due to lightning Strike in Kachhar village under the Bakswaha Police Station, Chhatarpur district, Madhya Pradesh two laborers died while four were severely injured, according to the police.

The station in-charge, Bakswaha, reported that the installation work of wire fencing at the plantation of the forest department was taking place between the Karri and Kachhar villages in Chhatarpur. The laborers engaged in the work sought shelter under nearby trees to protect themselves from the rain.

During this time, lightning strikes happened, resulting in the instant death of two laborers, while four others sustained severe injuries. The injured individuals were subsequently admitted to Damoh district hospital, as stated by the station in-charge.

Other recent lightning Strike incidents:

1. On 8th July, 2023, in Mainpuri district, Uttar Pradesh, three people including a woman died while three others were injured after getting struck by lightning in separate incidents.

2. On 4th July, 2023, six people were killed and one child got injured due lightning in Azamgarh district, UP.

CM Yogi Adityanath conveyed his sorrow and grief over the fatalities caused by lightning strikes in the Azamgarh and Ghazipur districts.
