West Bengal's Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, recently underwent a medical assessment at a state-run hospital to address injuries sustained to her left knee and right shoulder. These injuries occurred earlier in the year while she was disembarking from a helicopter.

Her visit to the Woodburn Block of the SSKM Hospital aimed to have doctors conduct routine tests and attend to the injuries. While leaving the hospital, she shared insights with reporters regarding the medical attention she received.

Banerjee clarified that the injuries were a result of an emergency landing of her helicopter at the IAF helipad in Sevoke near Siliguri. She assured the press that the doctors had effectively treated both her leg and shoulder, dismissing concerns about the severity of the situation.

In response to questions about her stay and any surgical procedures, Banerjee emphasized that it was primarily a check-up. She downplayed the significance of her three-hour hospital visit, stating that she engaged in discussions with doctors, addressing some of the challenges they faced.

Expressing her recovery progress, she mentioned her ability to walk normally, boasting a daily routine of approximately 20,000 steps. Additionally, before departing, Banerjee extended New Year greetings to the people of the state and recited a poem by Tagore, underscoring themes of unity and peace.

This hospital visit is not the first instance of health concerns for the Chief Minister. In September, she encountered a similar injury to her left knee during a tour of Spain and Dubai.

Banerjee's hospital visit primarily focused on routine check-ups and addressing prior injuries, ensuring her well-being while assuring the public that her condition was stable and manageable.
