In what appeared as the big breaking news of Sunday evening, Manish Sisodia, MLA from Patparganj constituency, was arrested by the CBI. Prior to the arrest, Sisodia was interrogated at his residency by the Central Bureau of Investigation in the morning.
The arrest of the Deputy CM of Delhi came amidst the speculation of him being involved with the corruption in Delhi's liquor policy.

As of now, no protests have been witnessed in the evening by the AAP members. However, the morning protests by the members of the ruling party in Delhi were taken down by the police, and several leaders were detained.
Launched in 2021, the liquor policy allowed private owners to have a complete monopoly on buying and selling liquor while the government would play no role in it. The state government also reported an annual increase in revenues thanks to the policy.
But with the incoming of VK Saxena as the new Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, the policy came into question. Manish Sisodia, being the Head of the Excise department in Delhi, also faced stern accusations. He was accused of being "flexible" with the rules and "taking unlawful benefits" in exchange for liquor licenses.
In the deputy CM's defense, the CM of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, "Manish is innocent. His arrest is dirty politics. There is a lot of anger among the people due to the arrest of Manish. Everyone is watching. People are understanding everything. People will respond to this. This will boost our spirits further. Our struggle will get stronger."

The 51-year-old politician is expected to appear before the court tomorrow morning. Any comments on his wrongdoing now will only be a conviction until the court proves him guilty.
