Mizoram Prepares: 4,000 Personnel Set for Election Result Day

Mizoram readies for vote counting with 4,000 personnel engaged in the process. State Chief Electoral Officer Madhup Vyas confirmed the involvement of staff across 13 counting centers. An estimated 399 EVM tables and 56 postal ballot tables will operate in 40 counting halls.

Mizoram's
impending election results prompt preparations as the state readies for the
vote counting scheduled this Sunday. Chief Electoral Officer Madhup Vyas
announced the participation of approximately 4,000 personnel in the counting
process set for December 3. The State Election Department has ensured thorough
arrangements for the event, with all Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) securely
stored in strong rooms situated across district headquarters.
Vyas
reiterated, "Around 4,000 personnel will be engaged in the crucial
vote-counting process." Security measures include the placement of all
EVMs in strong rooms, securely guarded within district headquarters. Notably,
the elections held on November 7 witnessed a significant 80.66% voter turnout
across Mizoram for the 40-membered Assembly.
Elaborating on the specifics of the counting day, the Additional CEO of Mizoram, H Lianzela, detailed the arrangement of 399 EVM tables and 56 postal ballot tables distributed across 40 counting halls throughout the state.

Mizoram's
Director General of Police, Anil Shukla, affirmed the comprehensive preparations
to ensure a smooth and incident-free counting day. He emphasized the
collaboration between various forces, stating, "CAPF from outside Mizoram,
central forces, IRBn, and Mizoram armed police have been deployed for
full-proof arrangements."
Out
of the 174 candidates in the fray, the ruling Mizo National Front (MNF), Zoram
People's Movement (ZPM), and Congress contested all 40 seats, while BJP
participated in 23 seats.
The
state remains vigilant and geared toward a seamless electoral outcome,
anticipating the verdict amid the engagement of a substantial workforce for the
critical counting day.
