at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium escalate as it readies itself for the
intense face-off between cricket giants India and Australia in the forthcoming
ODI World Cup 2023 final. Scheduled for November 19, Sunday, the world's
largest cricket stadium gears up for this significant clash, with attention
honed in on the crucial element—the pitch.
Ahead
of the showdown, India's coaching staff, led by captain Rohit Sharma,
scrutinized the pitch's surface. Observations from ESPNCricinfo noted the
curator's activities, sparking speculation about potential changes in the
playing track.
Concerns emerged regarding the absence of ICC pitch consultant Andy Atkinson during the pre-match preparations, leading to speculations about his departure. However, an ICC source clarified that Atkinson remained present with the delegation and would assess the pitch's readiness on the following day.

Amidst
the uncertainty surrounding the playing surface, a state association curator
shed light on the possible nature of the pitch, hinting at a strategy to create
a slow batting track. This strategy aims to make consistent hard-hitting
challenging, speculating a defendable score of around 315 due to the
difficulties expected in batting during the second innings.
In
preparation for the final showdown, Indian players engaged in optional training
sessions. Notable names such as Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Ishan
Kishan, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Prasidh Krishna intensified their practice
sessions, gearing up for the high-stakes encounter.
