On a quiet Sunday morning, the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) decided to drop bombs on the BJP and its ally in the state. NBCC is the head of all the baptist churches in the region, and its comments will surely leave the BJP on defense. The church asked the voters of the state to cast their valuable votes against the “communal forces working against Christians in India.”With almost 89% of people following Christianity in the state, out of which the majority of them being Baptists, this is coming up as the single biggest news before the Nagaland polls.

The Church was adamant in its message. It said, “Pray so that our members all state exercise judiciously their sacred duty to vote in coming elections for good of the state by choosing leaders who would listen to people and respond effectively to their anxieties and needs.” They also hoped for justice against the mistreatment of the Christians in the country. The Print quoted the message; “Pray that the communal forces working against Christians in India will be brought to justice. Pray for the Christians to stand firm in their faith, pray that the people in authority will rule the country justly with a human face and deal sternly with those who sow the seeds of hatred.” The messages were more or less directed toward the alliance of the National Democratic People’s Party (NDPP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Although there is no inherent proof, one can hardly argue otherwise.

With the growing popularity and prominence of the BJP in the Northeastern region over the last 5-8 years, it will be interesting to note how the Chruch's message on communal forces hamper the party's interests in the state. For more updates keep visiting our website www.topstoriesworld.com where we provide unbiased, true, and top stories of the world.
