India's celebrated javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has etched his name in history again, securing a sensational gold at the prestigious World Athletics Championships held in Budapest. This remarkable victory marks the country's first-ever gold medal in the championships. Neeraj's triumph over his arch-rival from Pakistan, Arshad Nadeem, has ignited widespread celebrations within his family and across the nation.

Neeraj's father, Satish Kumar, spoke joyfully about the monumental achievement, emphasising the moment's significance for their family and the entire village and nation. Bhim Chopra, the uncle of the star athlete, echoed this sentiment, acknowledging the nationwide pride and underlining that festivities would ensue once Neeraj's current busy schedule permits.

Neeraj Chopra's historic victory in Budapest, the 2020 Olympic Summer Olympics' golden boy for India, further cements his legacy. Competing in the men's javelin throw event, he demonstrated unparalleled skill and determination to clinch the gold, outperforming Arshad Nadeem by a narrow margin.


Neeraj's winning throw of 88.17 meters in his second attempt secured his position at the top of the leaderboard. Despite fierce competition, he maintained his lead over Nadeem throughout the event. The Pakistani champion settled for a silver medal with a throw of 87.82 meters. In comparison, Czech Republic's Jakub Vadlejch secured the bronze with a best throw of 86.67 meters.


In an impressive display of talent, other Indian athletes also made their mark in the competition. Kishore Jena and DP Manu secured the fifth and sixth positions, respectively, showcasing India's growing athletic prowess.
