The NIA conducted raids at four locations in Punjab as part of an investigation into a terror conspiracy linked to Khalistani separatist leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun and his organization Sikhs For Justice (SFJ). The raids, which targeted individuals associated with Pannun, resulted in the seizure of digital materials.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) launched raids at four locations in Punjab on Friday, targeting individuals connected to a terror conspiracy involving Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a leader of the banned organization Sikhs For Justice (SFJ). Raids were conducted in Moga, two locations in Bathinda, and one in Mohali, as part of an ongoing investigation into the activities of Pannun, who has been under NIA surveillance since 2019. During the searches, authorities seized incriminating digital materials, which are now being analyzed.
The case revolves around a conspiracy led by Pannun and other SFJ members to incite violence and promote terrorist activities. Pannun, who has frequently issued threats via social media, warned of disrupting Air India's global operations and jeopardizing the safety of Sikhs traveling on the airline. These actions raised high alerts across India and abroad, with authorities investigating the potential impact on transportation networks.

The NIA had registered the case in November 2023 under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). Pannun, who was declared a Proclaimed Offender in 2022, remains a central figure in the agency's probe. His previous threats have aimed to create unrest between Sikhs and other communities in India.
