Outbreak of Marburg Disease in Equatorial Guinea Confirmed by WHO: Essential Information

After the COVID outbreak across the world which amounted more than millions of death affecting almost every country of the world, another virus is at the doorstep as confirmed by WHO. Years after the recovery from COVID 19 virus, the  world is threatened with another outbreak of Marburg Virus.  World Health Organisation (WHO) has confirmed another sudden appearance of Marburg virus in the Equatorial Guinea last week. The global agency (WHO) has declared the Ebola related virus as another deadly epidemic initiated from Guinea. The virus has recorded 9 deaths and 16 suspected cases in the country, with symptoms of fever, fatal illness, diarrhoea, vomiting and weakness. The samples were sent to lab last week, where scientists have revealed about the horrific virus prevailing in the country.  Marburg Disease Marburg Disease All about Marburg Disease : Unlike COVID 19, Marburg virus is originated from the animals like Bats, and spread with close contact between animals. Marburg virus is haemorrhagic fever that affects human organs with deteriorated health as stated by US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDS). The virus resembles it’s symptoms with Ebola.  CDS claims that the virus is subjected to closeness between the people. It is also likely to spread from one another within a short span and can affect more than half of the population in the limited time. The virus is a great threat to the country as well as the world. Vaccination failed to prevent the disease from spreading in the entire cells of the body.  Symptoms of Marburg Virus : WHO has confirmed certain symptoms of the virus, which includes nauseating, vomiting, pain in chest, abdomen pain, sore throat, fever and diarrhoea. These have mild effects on the body. It becomes increasingly severe, with symptoms of jaundice, multiple organ dysfunction,  weight loss, liver failure, delirium and haemorrhagic fever. The initiative period of virus in human body is 2 to 3 weeks.  If one experience any of the symptoms mentioned above, it is advisable to instantly consult the doctor and take necessary precautions and stay isolated to prevent spreaders of the virus.  Marburg Disease Marburg Disease Facts about Marburg virus published by WHO: MVD (Marburg Virus Disease) case fatality rate is about 50 percent. The early care of the virus and symptomatic prevention can able to cure it.
