Pakistan's cricket landscape experiences a whirlwind of alterations post the World Cup 2023. Former skipper Babar Azam relinquished leadership across all formats. Mohammad Hafeez assumes the role of director of cricket and will be the head coach during the upcoming Australia tour. Wahab Riaz succeeds Inzamam-ul-Haq as the team's chief selector.

Amidst these transitions, Morne Morkel resigned as Pakistan's bowling coach at the World Cup. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) promptly revealed the appointment of Umar Gul and Saeed Ajmal to fill the vacancies. Gul, already familiar with the team as a prior T20I series bowling coach against Afghanistan and New Zealand, brings his coaching expertise to further elevate Pakistan's bowling caliber.

"I'm honored to contribute to Pakistan cricket as the bowling coach. I aim to enhance Pakistan's bowling prowess," expressed Gul gratefully about his new role.
