Pankaj Tripathi, the celebrated actor, finds intriguing parallels between his recent project "Kadak Singh" and Ranbir Kapoor's latest film, "Animal." Both movies explore intricate familial dynamics, resonating profoundly with their respective audiences. "Kadak Singh," streamed on ZEE5, delves into the tumultuous relationship between a father and daughter while "Animal" portrays a similar theme but between a father and son, generating widespread buzz since its box office release.

In a candid conversation with DNA, Tripathi delved into the intriguing correlation between these two films, shedding light on the evolution of diverse narratives within the Indian film industry. He accentuated how the advent of OTT platforms significantly expanded the horizons of cinema, allowing for unconventional storytelling that was previously unimaginable. Tripathi emphasized how "Kadak Singh" and "Animal" capture analogous relationships but present them in entirely contrasting yet relatable ways, catering to a wide spectrum of audiences.

"The era post-OTT has revolutionized cinema. It was previously inconceivable; 'Kadak Singh' explores a similar emotional terrain but in vastly different ways, appealing to diverse viewer preferences," Tripathi expressed.

Reflecting on the shift in cinematic norms, he remarked, "A decade ago, envisioning 'Kadak Singh' or even addressing taboo subjects like those in 'OMG 2' was unthinkable. The landscape has remarkably transformed."

Tripathi also contemplated the unexpected fame stemming from his portrayal of character roles on OTT platforms, expressing astonishment at the emergence of memes and people mimicking his mannerisms for livelihood. "I never anticipated memes or impersonations becoming a part of my life. Now, it's become a source of income for some. It's a testimony to the evolving times," he shared.

Directed by National Film Award winner Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, "Kadak Singh" boasts an ensemble cast including Parvathy Thrivothu, Jaya Ahsan, and Sanjana Sanghi alongside Tripathi. This film serves as a testament to the expanding narrative diversity in Indian cinema, recognizing the pivotal roles played by character artists in shaping contemporary entertainment landscapes.
