Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in an energetic way criticizing the Supreme Court decision on the EVM-VVPAT matter, charged the RJD and Congress with ignoring the Constitution of India. Modi, the prime minister in an Araria rally in Bihar, accused the previous party of booth capturing and voter's disenfranchisement.

"RJD and Congress alliance in Bihar neither respects the constitution of India nor democracy because they deprived people of their right to vote for many years. Booth capturing was not uncommon...they did not care if people left their home to vote," PM Modi emphatically stated.

He went on to say that the opposition members wanted to get rid of EVMs, he was pleased with the conclusion of the Supreme Court that EVMs should remain in use.

PM Modi furthered his diatribe by claiming that the Congress masterminded the act of extending the OBC reservation to the Muslims in Bihar like the model that existed in Karnataka.

"Congress has not only planned to deprive the SCs, STs, and OBCs of their rights but they are also doing so with full responsibility. Therefore, I want to clearly state this fact that according to the thoughts of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, India cannot have the reservation based on religion," he further added.

While speaking of Karnataka, PM Modi said that his Congress party is going to copy the allocation of OBC shares to Muslims as in Bihar, without considering their financial status.

"But Congress also is working to introduce religion-based reservation into the system." It is striving to imitate the Karnataka reservation model for the country...They have violated the OBC community by including all Muslim residents of Karnataka in the OBC list without any consideration for their financial status. One of the big OBC section reservation that has gone to the Muslims now is 27%... With the same spirit, the Congress plans to do the same in Bihar and other parts of the country, he added.

The Supreme Court's rejection of the pleas for a cross-matching process of votes cast on EVMs through VVPAT machines was met by divergent reactions. Bench underscores that democracy develops on based trust and harmony among all institutions.

Nevertheless, Mr. Modi's remarks concerning the Congress's alleged plan of financing the families having many children have been questioned. The Election Commission has issued a notice to BJP President JP Nadda and the commission has asked for a reply by April 29.
