Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate nine Vande Bharat Express trains via video conferencing today at 12:30 pm. These trains are set to connect religious and tourist destinations spanning 11 states, bringing convenience and speed to passengers' journeys.


The states set to benefit from this expansion include Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Bihar, West Bengal, Kerala, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Gujarat, according to a press release from the Prime Minister's Office.

The newly launched Vande Bharat trains are:

1. Udaipur - Jaipur Vande Bharat Express

2. Tirunelveli-Madurai- Chennai Vande Bharat Express

3. Hyderabad - Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express

4. Vijayawada - Chennai (via Renigunta) Vande Bharat Express

5. Patna - Howrah Vande Bharat Express

6. Kasaragod -Thiruvananthapuram Vande Bharat Express

7. Rourkela - Bhubaneswar - Puri Vande Bharat Express

8. Ranchi - Howrah Vande Bharat Express

9. Jamnagar-Ahmedabad Vande Bharat Express


These Vande Bharat trains are set to become the fastest trains on their respective routes, significantly reducing travel time for passengers. For instance, the Rourkela- Bhubaneswar - Puri Vande Bharat Express and Kasaragod-Thiruvananthapuram Vande Bharat Express will save travelers about 3 hours, while the Hyderabad - Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express will reduce travel time by over 2.5 hours. Other routes will also see substantial time savings, making travel more efficient.

In line with the Prime Minister's vision to improve connectivity to important religious sites, several of these trains will connect key pilgrimage destinations. For example, the Rourkela- Bhubaneswar - Puri Vande Bharat Express and Tirunelveli- Madurai- Chennai Vande Bharat Express will connect the religious towns of Puri and Madurai, respectively.


The Vijayawada - Chennai Vande Bharat Express will provide connectivity to the Tirupati Pilgrimage Centre via the Renigunta route.


These Vande Bharat trains are equipped with world-class amenities and advanced safety features, including Kavach technology, setting a new standard for rail services in the country. They aim to offer modern, speedy, and comfortable means of travel to a wide range of passengers, including common people, professionals, businessmen, students, and tourists.
